These lyrics are all just so good and rich.

My First Love
Words and Music by Stuart Townend

VERSE 1:

My first love is a blazing fire
E A
I feel His pow'rful love in me
E A

And I will let is grow in me.

E A
And like a child I will dance in Your presence

Oh, let the joy of heaven pour down on me
E A
I still remember the first day I met You
E D A D E
And I don't ever want to lose that fire, my first love

VERSE 2:
E A
My first love is a rushing river
E A
A waterfall that will never cease
E A
And in the torrent of tears and laughter
E A
I feel a healing pow'r released
Bsus E
And I will draw from Your well of life, my love
Bsus F#m7
And in Your grace I'll be satisfied, my love

VERSE 3:
E A
Restore the years of the church's slumber
E A
Revive the fire that has grown dim
E A
Renew the love of those first encounters
E A
That we may come alive again
Bsus E
And we will rise like the dawn throughout the earth
Bsus F#m7
Until the trumpet announces Your return

Attraction Distraction

I was having a quiet time with God last night and I felt Him saying that one of the biggest distractions from revival can be attraction.  You know... when you start liking someone.  I just really felt a warning in my heart to be careful of not letting that distract you.  Here are some ways it can.  One, you could be trying to be "godly" to catch the attention of someone.  Two, you could have quiet times that always revolve around a person you like.  If you find that every quiet time you have with God leads to someone you are interested in then that is a sign they have become an idol.  Three, you may like someone who isn't walking out totally in what God has called them too.  This can scare you away from you walking out in all that God is calling you to.  Be careful not to let attraction become a distraction.  Just trust that God has perfect timing and that if something is meant to be, He will make it happen for you!  But usually God doesn't do that until you are totally focused on Him.

Where Do I Find Motivation?

So, I was just around very motivated, passionate Christians for the last few weeks.  It made street evangelism a lot easier because of the passion I felt.  Then it came... The realization that soon I'd be on my own.  But here is the truth, I am not on my own.  And boy did God start convicting me.  Where does my passion come from?  It comes not from passionate Christians.  It comes because Jesus died on the cross for my sins and the sins of the world.  This should give me passion enough to live the life style of a radical Christian all by myself.

Convicting Picture

I got this picture a few weeks ago.  I was with God and He was showing me around Heaven.  He stopped and showed me these beautiful, empty palaces.  I asked why they were empty.  He said it was because He has been waiting on the church to fill them.  We have been so caught up in our comfort and consumed with ourselves that we have forgotten.  We have forgotten about the empty palaces.  I don't know about you, but I know I don't want to die and go to Heaven seeing those palaces empty when I know I could have been doing something about it.  I am tired of waiting on other people.  It is my turn to make a change!

The Prize For Which He Died

Have you ever heard the phrase, "That Christ may have the prize for while He died"?

I have heard it may times.  For the first time though, I actually started processing it.  John 3:16... ya know, the verse everyone knows?  For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only son that WHOEVER believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.  Do you see that?  The WORLD!  Now God doesn't need us.  I am very aware of this.  But He has asked us to be the ones who make this verse go into action.  EVERYONE glorifying God is the reward He deserves.  It is our job to help make that happen.  This is why Christ died.  Do we even care?  I really think if His glory is our highest pursuit we will want to make sure everyone around us has the same common goal.  Do you really believe that Christ is worthy to have the prize for which He died?  If so, then let's do something about it!

Stories From Circuit Rider And After

A Brief Testimony From Me

Video: Why I made this blog?

Why?

Hey everyone!  I wanted to make a blog to share my thoughts on revival.  God is doing so much!  I'm excited to share my stories and maybe get more stories from others.  This will mostly be a vlog... even though at this moment I have no videos up.  If you have any stories you would want on here feel free to email me at lowercase_v@yahoo.com!

Anyways, here is my heart behind this blog though.

Did you know it has been said that 95% of today's Christians will not lead anyone to the Lord. What happened to Matthew 28:16-20? "Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This is not a suggestion but rather a command. Not doing this is disobeying, which is a sin. Christ died so that anyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. Have we let Him die for nothing? I think it is time our King have the prize for which He died. That is Him being glorified by every tongue, nation, and tribe. For this is the culture of Heaven on Earth. The time for revival has come. Let's change that 95%. Let's stop waiting on others to change or come to us. Let's stop being complacent... Let's glorify God!

Complacency

This is a poem I wrote about Complacency.

I want it to be different, what if I shut my eyes?
If they ever open will there be a big surprise?
I want it to be different, what if my lips are sealed?
If they ever open will my fate be revealed?
I want it to be different, what if my ears are closed?
If they ever open will it be as I supposed?
Disappointingly I found, none of this had worked.
While I hid myself away, complacency had lurked.
Wishing… wanting things to change had only made them stay.
Wishing… wanting things to change is what pushed me away.
Away from discomfort, potential, CHANGE!
Closer to comfort, hiding, it's strange.
Shutting my eyes, mouth, and ears,
Those were the things that brought on years.
Years where things were always the same,
Where bravery, potential was lost with my name.
Comfort was too good a friend of mine,
I guess you could say, he was my spine.
Comfort I thought was keeping me strong.
Comfort's what told me it's here I belong.
Comfort had lied, he was not my friend.
He wanted me prisoner until my end.
Comfort you see, was the end of my life,
It held my neck close, close to a knife.
I never saw how it was blinding me.
I never saw how it was muting me.
I never saw how it was deafening me.
I never saw... how it was killing me.
Never, that's a word I so did treasure.
I will NEVER try but keep my pleasure,
My pleasure of feeling safe… content,
Knowing well that my time was spent,
Thinking of how I wanted change to take place.
Forgetting that were all in a race.
Racing just to find our way,
And if one stops, they will pay.
Because then you see they found their way,
Will stay the same every day.
And that is how comfort can end.
It sits around and will slowly pretend.
Pretends that he is your friend, your love,
When really he has come to shove.
Shove the joy right out of your life,
While all along he was holding a knife.
And the next thing you know your actually dead,
Because comfort had won, it cut off your head.
This my friends is a warning you see,
To stay away from complacency.
And never call comfort your friend,
Cause now you know how that will end.
