Hey! Let's Keep Updated!

This will still stay a blog with my thoughts on revival, but I also want it to be where you can stay updated with me.  So I will have my monthly updates on here about what God is doing in my life.  Just thought I would let everyone know.  And yes, this was to be a vlog.  But I am not sure how much I am able to keep up with that.  But maybe I will have a few more videos soon.

Study on God's Love

WE WANT TO LOOK LIKE JESUS, SO LET'S LOOK AT HIS LOVE. THE MORE WE UNDERSTAND IT THE MORE WE LOOK LIKE HIM!!!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

LOVE NEVER FAILS.

I was thinking about that Bible verse this morning. God has perfect love. So God gives this to us in perfection. It made me want to step back and think about what that really looks like. The only thing is, because He is God, it applies differently to Him. But it's beautiful when you connect it that way. You will see what I mean. :) This will be kind of long, but it may really encourage you! 

Love is patient. Goodness. How many times do I fail to believe this. I know I have messed up time and time again. Usually after the 3ed time of making the same mistake, I am persuaded that God is fed up with me. How refreshing to realize He is patient. I can't mess up too many times. Praise the Lord.

Love is kind. When life is going good for me, it's not hard for me to believe God is being kind. But what about when I am hurting? What about when things don't go like I had planned? Do I still believe God is kind? The truth is, He is. Every time it is hard, I believe God is investing in us to make us look more like His son. I think that is truly God's kindness. And not only that, but He is making us stronger. We will never regret the hard times. 

Love does not envy. This is where God has the exception, which is beautiful. He is jealous for us. Not because of ANYTHING we have done. He is just extremely jealous for us. He envies anything that captures our attention more than Him. How crazy that the creator of the heaven and the earth feels that way about us? The even more amazing things is, when we actually give God more attention than anything else, He blesses it. You will feel more peace, joy, and love than you ever thought imaginable. 

Love does not boast and it is not proud. The other exception comes in here. God is the only one who can have pride. He is pride if you think about. Nothing else is worth it. But the most amazing thing to me is, even though He has full entitlement to pride, Jesus came to earth and humbled himself more than any human being ever could or would. God became man, lived out perfection, and then died for us. He was willing to humble himself in this way, just so we could actually understand how much He loves us. CRAZY LOVE GUYS!

Love does not dishonor others. I know sometimes I feel as if I have to live this life of perfection or I will be a disgrace to God. And therefore, I must deserve to be dishonored. This isn't God's heart at all. He loves to take pride in His children and make us feel honored. Therefore we return all honor to Him. How beautiful? 

Love is not self-seekeing. Ok, so everything should be about God. Guys, here is some crazy love again. God works everything out for OUR GOOD! It totally honors God in the end too, which is incredible. But we can trust that God loves us enough, that everything that happens to us is for our benefit. AMAZING!

Haha whoa! Love is not easily angered. Wrap your minds around that. If your like me, you believe God has been angry at you many many many times. Well guess what, you were wrong. If anything, God has so much sympathy. He watches us fall and it hurts Him. He loves us so much He gives us chance after chance. There is no good reason for it except for the fact He loves us.

Love doesn't keep records of wrong. So not only is God not easily angered, He is not keeping record of our wrongs. Dude! When Jesus died, it was finished. So how about you stop keeping record of your wrongs and just let Jesus love on you. 

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth. God rejoices in us when we walk out in truth. How crazy? Imagine it... God's up in heaven, and let's say maybe right now your having revelation of God's love. Get this. He is rejoicing at this moment because of you starting to get that truth. I also heard God dances over us. I have a feeling He isn't a panzy about it. I think He really is up there doing some crazy dance over you out of excitement as you walk out in truth. 

Love always protects. Let's make this simple. Don't be afraid, because God loves you enough to protect you. It's that simple.

Love always trusts, always hopes... I think in a way we have reverse affect in this when it comes to God. That's why I put the 2 of these together. We can ALWAYS trust God and place our hope in Him. His love has proven time and time again that this is how we can respond to Him and the only way we should. Never out of fear.

Love always preserves. This is one of the most beautiful to me. There are times when I think I have messed up my relationship with God. But get this, it's already preserved. You can't mess it up. It's just there. No matter what. So quit trying. You can't loose it.

So put all of this together and you get LOVE NEVER FAILS! So I'd encourage you to keep on getting to know God's love. The more you do, the more you realize it can't fail us. It makes life so much easier and enjoyable when we understand this.
